Biography

Hello, and welcome to my site. I created this space because I thought it would be a nice way of gathering and presenting information about myself to individuals who, for whatever reason, are seeking information about me or any of the projects I work on. The first thing anyone should know about me is that I have a wonderful family who I love very much. My wife, Molly, and I were married in 2008 and each day she makes me want to be a better man and husband. Together we live just outside the city of Reno with our dog Franny. Our little family recently had an important addition. Jack William was born April 20, 2011 and he is perfect in every way. I appreciate every day I have with my family and I'm thankful that I have a place that truly is home.

I recently received my Ph.D. from the Behavior Analysis Program at the University of Nevada, Reno under the advisement of my mentor and good friend, Linda Hayes. Professionally, I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and one of the first Licensed Behavior Analysts in the state of Nevada. This summer my family and I will be moving to Louisville, KY where I recently accepted an Assistant Professor position in Spalding University's Applied Behavior Analysis Program.

Many of my hobbies are centered around technology. Over the years I've taught myself a couple of programming languages and as a result, I've had a couple of jobs working as a web designer to help pay my way through school. Most of my interests in technology relate directly to my research interests in behavior analysis. I've programmed quite a few basic laboratory experiments over the years to support my research and my colleagues'. Recently I unveiled a new data collection application, Direct Assessment Tracking Application (D.A.T.A.), through my small business, Behavior Science.org. I'm currently running experiments with the application to test it's utility for measurement. The results so far have already been promising and have pointed the way for future improvements on the design.

Another hobby that I love, but don't indulge in as much any more, is travelling. After I received my Bachelor's degree I had the good fortune of visiting and living in many parts of the world. My best and most significant travel experience was during my 2 and half years as a Peace Corps Volunteer living and working as a Health Educator in a remote villiage in Kenya. My wife and I also lived together in Jordan for a summer while we taught a practicum course to graduate students enrolled in the first Middle Eastern Master's degree program in behavior analysis.

If you decide to poke around the site you'll find more information about my background and some of the projects and activities I've already mentioned. If you have any questions or comments you can reach me via the contact page on this website or by emailing me directly at erickdubuque@gmail.com.
